
MMT CONSTITUTION
The MMT Constitution sets out the principles, structure and rules that guide the governance of Meadowvale Music Theatre. Here you can find the current Constitution and review any changes being proposed to our membership.

Proposed Changes to the MMT Constitution
MMT is proposing changes to the current Constitution for consideration by our membership. These changes are not currently in effect.
What's Changing

CONSTITUTION
Under Article D(ii):
Existing wording: Eight members shall be elected at the annual membership meeting. The term of office shall be for two years. Four members will be elected each alternate year.
New wording: The term of office shall be for two years. Approximately half of the members will be elected each alternate year.
Under Article I:
Existing wording: Amendments to the constitution can be made by motion approved by 70% of the members present at a General Meeting called for considering the proposed amendment.
New wording: Amendments to the Constitution can be made by motion approved by two-thirds of the members present at a General Meeting called for considering the proposed amendment.
BYLAWS
No. 1
Under Section 2 Logo
Existing wording: The logo, an impression whereof is stamped in the margin hereof, shall be the Corporate logo of the Corporation.
New: This section is removed as it is not required as part of the bylaws. The remaining sections have been renumbered accordingly.
Under Section 19 - Annual and Other Meeting of Members
Existing: fiscal year end May 31
New: fiscal year end is changed to August 31.
Under Section 25 - Financial Year
Existing wording: Unless otherwise ordered by the board of directors, the fiscal year of the Corporation shall terminate on the 31st day of May in each year.
New: Unless otherwise ordered by the board of directors, the fiscal year of the Corporation shall terminate on the 31st day of August in each year.

Under Section 3 - Auditions

Existing wording - The Audition Committee will not cast outside membership without the permission of the Executive

No. 4
Existing wording: All cheques drawn on the account of the group shall carry two signatures. The signing officers shall be the President, Treasurer or Vice-President.
New: All cheques drawn on the account of the group shall carry two signatures. The signing officers shall be the President, Treasurer, Vice-President and any other executive member that the board so chooses.
HOUSEKEEPING
As a housekeeping item, all references to "Corporation" are changed to "Organization" to reflect that MMT is a registered charity that is not incorporated.
Current vs. Proposed
Until proposed changes are approved by the membership and take effect, the Current Constitution shown above remains MMT's governing Constitution.
