MMT YOUTH COMPANY

We are thrilled to announce the MMT Youth Company! For the first time we will be mounting a production entirely staring the amazing talents of young people in our community.

​

Our mission is to create a space for young people from across Mississauga and beyond, to have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of musical theatre, from on stage to behind the scenes, all while building teamwork and leadership skills.

What is the MMT Youth Company?

  • Who? We are a group focused on building a love of performance for young theatre enthusiasts aged 8-16!

  • What? We aim to produce one full scale musical starring young people each year!

  • Where? We rehearse and perform in Mississauga and welcome young people from across the GTA to get involved! 

  • When? We rehearse weekly from the end of February until our spring show

  • Why? Because it's so much FUN!!

So come one come all to MMTYC to learn the skills of singing, acting and dancing as we put together an awesome kid led musical!

Our First Production!

We are thrilled to announce our inaugural MMTYC production of Into the Woods Jr

Be careful what you wish for, as Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical.  Into the Woods JR. features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.

The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.
